Hello beautiful mommies!!!

I am so excited to tell you about my experience in the movies with my daughter. It was the first time we went together to the movies, and the first time I had gone to the movies in 2017!

Some people may say, are you crazy? how are you going to go to the movies with a toddler?

Well… it is possible!!!!

Movies for Mommies Experience

There is this organization which is called movies for mommies, they have their own page and they have this program around all Canada for what I have seen. I saw the ad on Facebook and I went to give it a try.

Let me tell you that it was pretty good, the movie ticket was only 10 CAD and there was also going to be MINI Sessions for the mommies who were interested to take a picture with their little ones or only a picture of their babies. This picture was going to cost another 10 CAD. So in terms of prices it was pretty affordable.

Freebies and Prizes

When I entered to the movies there was a mommie welcoming the mommies with their babies

and taking the information for the Mini photo session and also giving us some freebies for us and the babies, it was a bag full of things, it had a magazine for mommies with information about babies and toddlers, some gift certificates, diaper samples, sudocream and more.

Also before the movie started there was a raffle in which my daughter won a sensorial book!

Environment

The movie was going to be played in a baby friendly environment. Meaning that the Movies run the movie with reduced sound, however I didn’t feel like it was reduced that much. There was also dim light so mommies were able to feed their babies or just look at them when needed. Also they set a changing table in theatre, specially for us, just outside our screening, besides that one, there was also a changing table on the Ladies’s Washroom. The movie started at 11 am and there was space for all the strollers and some mommies just decided to enter with their stroller.

Babies ages

I can say that most babies were over 3 months old, and my daughter was one of the oldest one, she is almost 19 months old. I can say that for my daughter the movie was good, she was able to stay quiet most of the movie sitting on my lap, also she was kind of excited at the beginning to get to know the new place and see the huge screen. I would recommend to bring babies after their 6 months only because from my point of view the sound was loud for a younger baby.

Movie

The movie was great, haha it was a comedy “Bad Moms Christmas 2” and there were some lousy fights between the actresses sometimes that made my daughter scared a little bit, but she enjoyed most of it, she had some cookies for snack time and she did not slept until she got in the car and did not wake up for the next 2 hrs, which was great for me.

The great thing about this is that us, mommies were able to enjoy a grown up movie with our little ones in the movies! and nobody was criticizing us or staring at us because our babies were crying or because we had to go out and change a diaper, it was great! The room was full of mommies with their babies, some of them were breastfeeding them, others will stand up to try to calm them or put them to sleep, besides that we had some freebies and some pictures taken!

Thank you for organizing this and giving us the opportunity to enjoy a movie as well!

See you at the movies!
